Kenergy Founder

Karina Ramirez, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, but raised in Miami. Athletics has defined her for over 30 years, both personally and professionally.  Starting at the early age of 8, she became a nationally recognized equestrian. She found her passion, however, in the sport of Tennis, becoming a full scholarship Division I athlete at George Washington University. While at George Washington, she played number one her last two years, was a ranked NCAA player, received the team’s MVP her final year, and led The Raiders to four consecutive Atlantic Ten Conference championships. She majored in International Business and proceeded on turning professional after college. Unfortunately, her professional tennis career was cut short due to injury and started her post-rehabilitation in pilates shortly there after she discovered its benefits during physical therapy. She received her certification in the Pilates Classical Method in 2007 with Nicole Percovich, and became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor (Reformer, Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel, Latter Barrel, and Stability Chair) in 2010. She specializes in injury and special population including pregnancy. She is a firm believer in the pilates method as a post-rehabilitation tool and to enhance athletic performance at all levels.  She is also a triathlete, enjoys running half-marathons, and is an avid mountaineer.

About Studio

The studio is located in the WOW District, West Of Wynwood, the new up and coming area where local artist, musicians, and local businesses are setting up shop. The 1,500 sq feet and 30 sq feet high ceiling warehouse that houses Kenergy is not only impressive in
its size but has a calming energy and edgy feeling (there’s a massive graffiti wall as you walk in). Jorge Viera, also known as GWIZ1, created this magical mural which radiates “energy” and captures the essences of Kenergy’s name. The studio is easily accessible via
195. Plenty of parking is available directly behind the warehouse or on the street. We are equipped with six V2 Max Stott Pilates Reformers with towers, (which convert into Cadillacs) six stability chairs, and jump-boards, allowing for circuit training and
more intense balanced workout.
